St. Jacobs, ON, March 28, 2013 – Home Hardware Stores Limited is excited to announce it was the recipient of two 2013 Canadian Home Builders Association Awards, both the Business Excellence Award for the “Get it in Writing!” consumer awareness campaign, and The Riley Brethour Award. The awards presentation took place on March 8 during the Canadian Home Builders Association’s (CHBA) National Conference, held in Lake Louise, AB from March 7 – 9, 2013.

“We are incredibly proud of our team who has received not one, but two, awards from the Canadian Home Builders Association,” said Bruce White, Vice-President, Lumber and Building Materials, Home Hardware Stores Limited. “At Home Hardware, part of our mission is to consistently deliver superior customer service and expert advice. The “Get it in Writing!” campaign is just one example of how we work to communicate the important message on home renovations to consumers.”

The Business Excellence Award is typically given to an individual who has made significant and valued contributions to CHBA. This year, an exception was made for Home Hardware to receive the award as an organization for its innovative consumer awareness campaign “Get it in Writing!” The campaign centered on informing home owners about the importance of a written contract when working with a professional contractor. In addition, Home Hardware’s Director of Marketing, Jack Baillie, was awarded The Riley Brethour Award, presented annually to recognize the contributions of an individual to the Canadian housing industry in the field of marketing.

“Our Award of Excellence is delivered to someone, or this year, a company, who provides outstanding support to the professionals in our industry,” said Ron Olson, President, Canadian Home Builders Association. “Home Hardware continues to go above and beyond in helping to deliver important information, such as the “Get it in Writing!” message, to Canadian homeowners and we are pleased to recognize the organization and its people with these two awards.”
