magnificent animals in
their natural habitat, as
well as other wild animals
indigenous to the area.
We stopped for lunch
at the “Cookhouse” at the
base camp for soup and
sandwiches for which we
thank our host Kwik Mix
(a loyal member of the
association) and Steve
Young. Thankfully, the
temperature warmed
up to about minus 7 and
the afternoon run was
pleasant; we stopped at a
couple of beautiful scenic
lookouts.
It was a fantastic day!
We returned at about
4:30 p.m., handed in our
rental sleds or loaded
our snowmobiles, and
returned to the host
hotel - the Pinestone
Inn - located just
outside of Haliburton
village, for an evening of
reminiscing about this
great day! Based on the
conversation, I would
expect that most will be
back next year.
If you enjoy the
Canadian winter and are
prepared for it, come out
and join us next year!
